The existing disc filter had become a capacity bottleneck. The mill required a 20% production increase while maintaining reliable operation and product quality.
ANDRITZ replaced the existing bag sectors with new PolyHex™ bagless sectors featuring an enlarged dewatering surface and optimized filtrate flow. To support the higher production rate, the discharge screw system was also adapted.
The performance test exceeded expectations. Following the upgrade, the disc filter was no longer a bottleneck in the production line.
